Grip Strength

The Grip Strength test is performed on both hands to obtain symmetrical variance between hands, compare anatomical balance, and define a guideline for the relationship of all other functions to grip.

Grip Strength testing is performed by aligning the middle and ring fingers of a hand on the ring of the activator. Once this has been done, the patient and/or employee will bring the activator handle in place and squeeze with increasing pressure to maximum ability. The test window is 2 seconds long, one second to squeeze to max and one second to record max.
