Abduction and Adduction

The Abduction test is performed to define static strength of maximum performance. This test series shows a symmetrical difference and relationship to grip. It also defines the difference between it and its counterpart, Adduction. Abduction testing is performed by aligning the ring finger with the activator ring and bending only the wrist into the body.

The Adduction test is performed to define the maximum amount of static strength in only the forward movement of the wrist. It defines a symmetrical variance and relationship to grip. Adduction is typically stronger than Abduction. The test is performed by aligning the ring finger on the activator and bending or extending only the wrist out and away from the body.
